What MILCOMPASS is

An independent software product that organizes public reference material, links users to authoritative sources, provides original study tools and explanations, and helps users structure career and leader-development workflows.

What MILCOMPASS is not

MILCOMPASS is not an official Army or Department of Defense system, is not sponsored or endorsed by the U.S. Government, and does not replace a commander, chain of command, servicing staff section, legal office, medical professional, finance office, education center, schoolhouse, ATRRS, IPPS-A, HRC, Army Publishing Directorate, or another official system of record.

Original MILCOMPASS work

The MILCOMPASS user interface, workflow design, organization, study systems, question-bank structure, leader tools, original explanatory text, and software code are original MILCOMPASS product elements except where a source or quotation is specifically identified.

Official government sources

Where practical, MILCOMPASS links directly to Army, Department of Defense, U.S. Code, HRC, Army Publishing Directorate, Army schoolhouse, and other government sources. A link does not imply that the source agency endorses MILCOMPASS.

Quotations and excerpts

Short excerpts may be displayed when useful for study or verification. They should be labeled as source wording and linked back to the source. Longer material should be summarized rather than copied wholesale.

Government works and copyright

Many works created by U.S. Government employees as part of their official duties are not protected by U.S. copyright law. That rule has exceptions and does not automatically apply to third-party material contained in government publications, transferred copyrights, contractor-created work, trademarks, logos, insignia, seals, photographs, or other protected material.

Army marks are different

Army names, logos, emblems, unit insignia, rank insignia, badges, mottos, wordmarks, and similar identifiers may be protected Army trademarks. MILCOMPASS does not claim ownership of Army marks and should not use protected marks in a manner that implies Army affiliation, sponsorship, licensing, or endorsement.

Report a source concern

If a source is outdated, incorrectly attributed, copyrighted material appears to be used improperly, or a link is broken, report it through Feedback so it can be reviewed and corrected.

Information MILCOMPASS may process

Account information may include email address and authentication/session identifiers. User-created information may include saved references, career goals, milestones, profile details, preferences, and documents a user intentionally places in the Career Documents Vault. Basic technical and security records may include timestamps, application version, request identifiers, authentication/security events, and limited diagnostic information needed to protect and operate the service.

Why information is used

MILCOMPASS uses information to provide requested features, synchronize user content, secure accounts, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, maintain audit records, process subscription entitlements, and improve the service. MILCOMPASS does not sell personal data and does not use Career Documents Vault contents to target advertising.

Service providers and data sharing

MILCOMPASS uses service providers to operate the product. Supabase supports authentication, database, and storage functions; Cloudflare supports hosting, edge delivery, API security, and related infrastructure. When a user intentionally uses an AI-assisted feature, the question and the limited verified context needed to answer it may be sent through the MILCOMPASS server to OpenAI. Service providers receive only the information reasonably necessary to perform the requested service and are not authorized by MILCOMPASS to use Career Documents Vault contents for targeted advertising.

Payments and subscription records

Payments made through Apple or Google are processed by the applicable app store. MILCOMPASS does not need full payment-card details to determine Pro access. MILCOMPASS may retain verified product, transaction, subscription-chain, status, and expiration metadata needed to provide, restore, secure, and audit subscription entitlements.

Advertising

The Free plan may display clearly identified advertising when advertising is enabled. MILCOMPASS Pro is designed to be ad-free. Career Documents Vault contents are not used to target ads. MILCOMPASS does not place ads inside safety-critical or sensitive reference areas such as emergency information, TCCC, SHARP/EO, suicide-prevention resources, or legal/UCMJ reference content. If an advertising provider uses information requiring additional consent or disclosure, MILCOMPASS will present the required controls before that processing is enabled.

Data classification

Public: public study/reference content. Personal: account, goals, preferences, saved items and ordinary profile data. Sensitive: permitted career documents that require the private vault and additional controls. Prohibited: information listed above that MILCOMPASS is not designed or authorized to receive.

Career Documents Vault

Vault files are intended only for permitted personal career documents. Storage is private and access-controlled. New files are quarantined until a trusted scanning service clears them. A cleared file is accessed through a short-lived signed link. Users should still remove unnecessary sensitive identifiers before upload.

Retention and deletion

User-created content should be retained only while needed to provide the service or satisfy a legitimate security/legal requirement. Users can delete individual vault documents. MILCOMPASS provides an export of supported account data and a verified process to permanently delete the authentication account and eligible associated personal data, including Career Documents Vault files where applicable. Limited security, fraud-prevention, transaction, legal, or backup records may remain for a limited period when reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate abuse, process disputes, comply with law, or preserve the integrity of the service.

Service providers

MILCOMPASS may rely on infrastructure, authentication, database, storage, security-scanning, hosting, email, and similar service providers to operate the service. Providers should receive only the information reasonably necessary for their role and should be configured consistently with MILCOMPASS privacy and security commitments.

Your choices and rights

Depending on applicable law, users may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of personal data and may have additional rights concerning certain processing. MILCOMPASS should honor applicable verified requests and should not discriminate against users for exercising legally protected privacy rights.

Children

MILCOMPASS is designed for military career and professional-development use and is not directed to children under 13. Do not create an account for a child or submit a child's personal information to the service.

Security and incidents

No internet service can guarantee absolute security. MILCOMPASS uses layered safeguards intended to reduce risk. If a security incident occurs, MILCOMPASS should investigate, contain the issue, preserve appropriate evidence, assess applicable notification duties, and notify affected users or authorities when required by law.

Policy changes

Material policy changes should be identified by version/date and, when appropriate, presented to signed-in users for renewed acceptance before continued use of affected private-data features.

Acceptance

By creating or using a MILCOMPASS account or private-data feature, a user agrees to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If a user does not agree, the user should not create an account, upload documents, or use private-data features.

No government affiliation or endorsement

MILCOMPASS is independently developed and is not an official U.S. Army, Department of Defense, or U.S. Government application. References to military organizations, programs, publications, forms, ranks, MOSs, schools, policies, or websites are informational and do not imply sponsorship, approval, affiliation, certification, or endorsement.

Acceptable use

Users may use MILCOMPASS for lawful personal, educational, career-development, study, and leader-support purposes. Users may not misuse the service, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with security controls, upload malicious files, impersonate another person, violate another person's privacy or intellectual-property rights, or submit information MILCOMPASS identifies as prohibited.

User content and documents

Users retain their rights in content they submit. Users grant MILCOMPASS only the limited permission reasonably necessary to host, process, scan, transmit, display back to the user, back up, secure, and delete that content in order to operate the requested service. Users represent that they have the right and authority to submit their content.

Official-source verification

Military regulations, forms, policies, course prerequisites, benefits, administrative processes, and websites can change. Users must verify consequential information against the current official source and applicable chain of command or servicing office before acting.

No professional advice or official decision

MILCOMPASS provides educational, organizational, and planning support. It does not provide legal, medical, financial, tax, or mental-health advice and does not make official personnel, promotion, evaluation, eligibility, readiness, security-clearance, benefits, or command decisions.

No warranty

To the extent permitted by applicable law, MILCOMPASS is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, completely secure, or that every item of information will remain current or complete. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that applicable law does not permit to be excluded.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, MILCOMPASS and its owner/operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from use of the service. Any limitation applies only to the extent enforceable under applicable law and does not limit liability that legally cannot be limited.

Account security

Users are responsible for safeguarding their credentials, using accurate account information, and promptly reporting suspected unauthorized access. MILCOMPASS may suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, or others.

Intellectual property and military marks

MILCOMPASS does not claim ownership of public-domain government material or third-party intellectual property. Military-service names, marks, logos, insignia, seals, badges, mottos, and related identifiers remain the property of their respective owners. MILCOMPASS original software, interface, organization, explanations, and original content remain protected to the extent allowed by law.

Free and Pro plans

MILCOMPASS may offer a Free plan and a paid MILCOMPASS Pro plan. The Free plan may include advertising and usage or feature limits. Pro may include expanded premium features and is designed to be ad-free. Current features, eligibility, price, and billing period are displayed before purchase and may change prospectively.

Auto-renewable subscriptions

Where offered, MILCOMPASS Pro may be purchased as a monthly or annual auto-renewable subscription. The price and billing period shown by Apple, Google, or another authorized checkout at the time of purchase control. Unless canceled through the applicable billing provider, a subscription may automatically renew according to that provider's terms and the disclosures shown before purchase.

Cancellation, refunds, and revocation

Canceling automatic renewal ordinarily preserves Pro access through the end of the already-paid billing period. Refunds, chargebacks, store revocations, fraud findings, or other provider actions may end access earlier. Refund eligibility and payment disputes are governed by the applicable store or payment provider and applicable law.

Restore purchases

Eligible users may restore a valid subscription after signing in to the same MILCOMPASS account. Restore requests are verified server-side against the applicable provider. A verified subscription chain may be linked to only one MILCOMPASS account at a time to reduce fraud and accidental cross-account access.

Termination and deletion

Users may stop using MILCOMPASS at any time. Deleting a MILCOMPASS account does not automatically cancel an Apple, Google, or other third-party subscription; users must manage cancellation with the applicable billing provider to stop future renewals. MILCOMPASS may restrict or terminate accounts for material violations, security threats, unlawful use, or other legitimate operational reasons, subject to applicable law. Deletion requests may require identity verification and may not immediately remove limited backups or security records that must temporarily be retained for legitimate purposes.

Questions, notices, and support

Users can report product, privacy, source, billing, or account concerns through the MILCOMPASS Feedback control. Additional contact information may also be provided in the applicable app-store listing. Legal rights and remedies that cannot lawfully be waived remain unaffected.

Changes

These Terms may be updated as the service changes. Material changes affecting private-data features should be versioned and presented for renewed acceptance when appropriate.

Free

MILCOMPASS Free provides core military reference and essential resources. The Free plan may include clearly identified advertising and may have lower limits on selected premium tools.

MILCOMPASS Pro

Pro may include expanded premium career and leader tools, larger or higher-use limits, advanced simulations, reports/exports, and other paid capabilities identified in the app. Pro is designed to be ad-free while the subscription remains active.

Monthly and annual auto-renewal

When offered, Pro may be purchased monthly or annually. The exact price and billing period shown by the applicable store at checkout control. Unless canceled, the subscription may renew automatically under the store's terms. Users should review the renewal price and date shown by their store account.

Canceling

Users can manage or cancel automatic renewal through the Apple App Store, Google Play, or the billing provider used for the purchase. A normal cancellation ordinarily keeps Pro active until the paid period ends. Deleting the MILCOMPASS account does not automatically cancel the store subscription.

Refunds, chargebacks, and revocations

Refunds and payment disputes are handled under the applicable store or payment-provider rules and applicable law. A verified refund, chargeback, or revocation may remove Pro access before the originally expected expiration date.

Restore Purchases

Restore Purchases is available for eligible subscriptions after the user signs in. MILCOMPASS verifies the provider transaction and subscription chain on the server before restoring Pro. Restore does not rely solely on a client-side claim of purchase.

Account and subscription ownership

A verified Apple or Google subscription chain may be associated with only one MILCOMPASS account at a time. This protects users from accidental cross-account access and helps prevent subscription fraud.

How to delete your account

Sign in to MILCOMPASS, open More → Account & Settings, open the privacy/account controls, submit an account deletion request, and follow the permanent-deletion confirmation flow. The final destructive action requires the exact confirmation phrase shown by the app.

What is deleted

The trusted deletion process removes the MILCOMPASS authentication identity and eligible user-owned application data. Career Documents Vault objects and associated metadata are removed where applicable, along with eligible goals, saved items, and other supported user data.

What may be retained temporarily

Limited security, fraud-prevention, transaction, legal, or backup records may be retained for a limited period when reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate abuse, resolve billing disputes, comply with law, or preserve the integrity of the service.

If you cannot sign in

Open the public MILCOMPASS website and use More → Send Feedback to report an account-deletion access problem. Do not include passwords, SSNs, DoD identifiers, CUI, or other prohibited information in the report.
